Peugeot’s revamped 308 and 308 SW are open for orders ahead of the start of deliveries later this month.
The updated 308 line-up teams up design and performance enhancements. Fleets and drivers also have a choice of four powertrains – including the all-electric E-308 with an extended range of to 279 miles.
Priced from £29,995 and £31,195 respectively, the revamped 308 and 308 SW also cost less than the outgoing models. The E-308 and E-308 SW also qualify for the Electric Car Grant, providing a £1,500 saving off the list price, with starting prices of £30,995 and £32,195 respectively.
New styling draws on Peugeot’s latest design language and debut the French brand’s new illuminated emblem, accompanied by a redesigned grille and striking three-claw light signature. The hatchback gets a low-profile silhouette while the 308 SW estate adds in “elegant sportiness and impressive versatility”.
The new C-segment family models are available in Allure, GT and GT Premium trims and have four powertrains up for grabs: pure electric, plug-in hybrid, 48V hybrid and diesel.
The updated electric powertrain features a 156hp electric motor with 270Nm of torque and a 58.4kWh (55.4kWh usable) battery, the latter also used in the new E-408. This gives a longer WLTP combined range of 279 miles (hatchback) and 275 miles (SW); up by 25 miles in the case of the hatchback, compared to the previous model. Three levels of regenerative braking are now available, adjusted via steering wheel paddles.
A heat pump is standard on the GT Premium and also available as an option on Allure and GT.
A three-phase 11kW onboard charger comes as standard, providing 20% to 80% charging times from three hours and 35 minutes from an 11kW AC charger. With a 7.4kW charger, this will take five hours and five minutes. Using a 100kW DC rapid charger, a 20% to 80% charge takes 32 minutes.
The plug-in hybrid combines a 150hp turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a 125hp electric motor and an electrified seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, giving combined power output of 195hp. The second-generation plug-in hybrid powertrain includes a 17.2kWh battery that gives an all-electric driving range of 53 miles (WLTP combined cycle); an additional 12 miles of range compared to the outgoing version.
The 48V Hybrid powertrain features a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a dual-clutch six-speed automatic gearbox, 0.9kWh 48V battery and 22hp electric motor. It enables pure electric driving for up to 1km at low speed.
A conventional diesel will arrive in March 2026, featuring a 1.5-litre BlueHDi 130 four-cylinder unit and EAT8 eight-speed automatic transmission.
Features as standard across all three trims include power folding door mirrors and an auto dimming interior rear-view mirror, as well as the Peugeot i-Cockpit featuring a 10-inch touchscreen with wireless Mirror Screen and four USB-C sockets.
Allure versions add in full LED headlights, new ‘3-Claw’ daytime running lights, as well as rear parking sensors and an HD reversing camera. Styling uplifts include body-coloured front grille featuring a new design, while the door mirrors and new rear bumper apron are finished in gloss black. There are also new 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, while electric versions come with new, bespoke 18-inch alloys. Interior design features include dynamic front seats with a new ‘Tremezzo’ seat trim, in addition to fabric dashboard and door panel decoration.
The GT trim adds in Matrix LED technology, an illuminated grille and badge, front and rear parking sensors alongside the HD reversing camera. It also gains bespoke 18-inch diamond-cut alloys, a grained leather steering wheel with a new GT logo, new ‘Uzila’ seat trim with green stitching and Alcantara facia and door panel decoration. Equipment additions bring i-Connect Navigation and configurable Peugeot i-Toggles.
The GT Premium grade is an all-new trim level and comes with Alcantara heated front seats with an eight-programme multi-point massage function and electric adjustment for the driver’s seat, as well as a heated steering wheel. The 360° Vision and Drive Assist Plus Pack includes a 360-degree camera system, 3D digital instrument panel, Clean Cabin System and puddle lights. Additional driver assist features bring rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control with stop & go, blind spot detection and lane position assist.
