Paua has expanded its UK charging network with the addition of Eon Drive Infrastructure’s ultra-rapid chargers.

The integration with Eon Drive Infrastructure (EDRI) brings 22 new locations and 177 ultra-rapid connectors into the Paua network, propelling its footprint beyond 65,000 connectors. This strengthens the firm’s position as one of the largest and most comprehensive EV charging networks in the country.

The new partnership also delivers more power and flexibility for Paua’s EV app and charge card customers. EDRI’s sites are focused on ultra-rapid chargers, designed to support fast turnaround for time-sensitive fleet operations.

Several sites also accommodate ‘medium’ sized commercial vehicles that are too big for standard bays, for example 7.5-tonne trucks. This makes it easier for operators to filter by vehicle size and route effectively.

With some confusion still in the EV industry over how to categorise vehicle types, Paua has introduced its own three-tiered vehicle size filters to bring clarity to fleet operators: ‘Small’ for vehicles that fit a standard parking bay (e.g. passenger cars, compact vans); ‘Medium’ for vehicles larger than a standard bay but smaller than an artic (e.g. Luton vans, 7.5-tonne trucks); and ‘Large’ for articulated 40-tonne+ trucks and HGVs.

The new EDRI locations are now live and accessible via Paua Access, with location data, connector types and power levels fully integrated into the platform. Paua business drivers can start using the new sites immediately.
