Peugeot’s updated 2008 line-up opens for orders next week, ushering in bolder design, new technologies and longer range for the fully electric e-2008.

Priced from £24,020 for ICE versions and £35,350 for the e-2008, the new-look models start first deliveries due later this summer.

The electric variant gains a new powertrain with a larger 54kWh battery that increases range from 214 miles to 251 miles (WLTP) and a new electric motor that ups power to 156hp – an increase of 15%.

As before, the line-up also includes a 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engine, available as a 100hp unit with a six-speed manual gearbox, and a 130hp model with either an EAT8 eight-speed automatic gearbox or a six-speed manual gearbox.

From 2024, a new 136hp mild hybrid petrol arrives, combining a 1.2-litre PureTech petrol engine with a new six-speed dual-clutch electrified gearbox incorporating an electric motor – offering up to a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions over petrol models.

Trim line-up has been streamlined to three models, bringing it into line with the rest of the Peugeot range. Customers can choose from Active, Allure and GT, while a First Edition model is available exclusively on the fully electric e-2008.

Standard equipment includes a 10-inch central touchscreen as standard as part of Peugeot’s i-Cockpit, as well as a row of toggle switches for quick access to key functions and a new compact steering wheel.

The new 2008 also gets a more striking, wider front-end incorporating the new Peugeot shield and the latest Peugeot light signature first seen on the new 508 and 508 SW. GT versions feature exclusive full LED headlamps made up of three light modules. The three-claw light signature at the rear has also been redesigned.
