Raw Charging and Hubber switch on Aberdeen’s largest ultra-rapid EV hub

Raw Charging has gone live with a new 14-bay ultra-rapid charging hub on Palmerston Road, in the heart of Aberdeen.

The new hub brings high-power charging to a central city location

Supported by a free charging offer this week, the new hub brings high-power charging to a central city location, with a mix of bays designed to suit different charging needs, from a quick top-up to a fuller charge during a short dwell time.

Delivered in partnership with infrastructure specialist Hubber, the site features 14 new charging bays, comprising 10 x 150kW ultra-rapid bays and 4 x 300kW ultra-rapid bays, including two dedicated priority bays.

The hub has been designed around the needs of local drivers and brings rapid and convenient charging to the city centre, making it an ideal stop for a quick top-up during everyday journeys.

Raw’s chargers feature contactless payment, compatibility with major EV charging apps and 24/7 support. Drivers can also unlock exclusive benefits and free charging during the launch week through Raw Rewards.

Scotland now has one of the largest concentrations of rapid and ultra-rapid chargers in the UK, behind only Greater London and the South East.

The site builds on Raw Charging’s growing partnership with Hubber and further expands Raw’s UK network, which now spans more than 500 sites.

Jason Simpson, CEO, Raw Charging, said: “Fourteen ultra-rapid bays means drivers can add serious range rather than planning their day around charging. This launch is another important step in our partnership with Hubber, providing fast, reliable and well-located facilities.

“Aberdeen is a fantastic addition to our growing network, and we look forward to welcoming drivers to our new Rapid Hub and to more sites with Hubber in the months ahead.”

Harry Fox, CEO and co-founder of Hubber, added: “This is a landmark EV charging site in the heart of Aberdeen and we were delighted to partner with a top-tier operator such as Raw to bring it to life. Transforming an underused city centre site into a dedicated, purpose-built high-powered hub, backed by a large grid connection, is exactly what Hubber does best: delivering the vital urban infrastructure our cities need as more drivers without home charging make the switch to electric. Mass-market adoption needs hubs like this, not chargers in ones and twos.”

To celebrate the opening, drivers can charge for free at the hub via Raw Rewards on Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 October 2026, giving local drivers a no-risk way to try the hub for the first time. Drivers charging between 9am and 2pm will also receive a free hot drink voucher for Sweet Mumma’s Kitchen, located just across the road.
