Raw Charging has opened the largest rapid EV hub in Dudley, delivering 16 ultra-rapid charging bays to the Black Country.

The hub features eight 150kW and eight 300kW ultra-rapid bays, including two dedicated priority bays

Located in Tipton, the hub features eight 150kW and eight 300kW ultra-rapid bays, including two dedicated priority bays. This means drivers can add significant range in minutes rather than hours, providing a meaningful step up in speed for those used to slower chargers and a practical option for local drivers without off-street parking at home.

Developed in partnership with Hubber, the site includes two priority bays to reflect Raw’s focus on practical hub design, helping to support driver flow during busy periods and keep the network moving. Chargers feature contactless payment and are compatible with all major EV apps.

Raw’s network now spans more than 500 sites across the UK and over 2,500 EV charging bays. This infrastructure is supported by partnerships with major destinations already in the local area such as Bentley Bridge and Leamington Spa Shopping Park.

To mark the opening, Raw is offering free charging and coffee on 27-28 October, while BYD Stourbridge will be on site with EVs available to experience and test drive.

Jason Simpson, CEO, Raw Charging, said: “We’re delighted to bring a new ultra-rapid charging hub to Dudley, giving drivers across Tipton and the Black Country access to charging speeds of up to 300kW. Our rapid hubs are designed to make charging easier to fit into people’s everyday journeys, with rapid, reliable charging in convenient locations.

“This launch is another step forward in our mission to make ultra-rapid EV charging more accessible for all drivers across the UK.”

It’s the third Raw Charging site delivered in partnership with Hubber, following the success of the Forest Hill Raw Rapid Hub in South London and more recently the Aberdeen Raw Rapid Hub.

Harry Fox, CEO and co-founder of Hubber, commented: “This is a landmark EV charging site for the Black Country and we were delighted to partner with a top-tier operator such as Raw to bring it to life.

“Securing a large grid connection and transforming an underused site into a dedicated, purpose-built high-powered hub is exactly what Hubber does best: delivering the vital urban infrastructure our cities and towns need as more drivers without home charging make the switch to electric. Mass-market adoption needs hubs like this, not chargers in ones and twos.”
