Renault has treated its Megane E-Tech to a range of tech upgrades while lowering pricing at the same time.

The Renault Megane E-Tech electric is now priced from £33,995

On sale now, the fully electric crossover is now priced from £33,995 – its lowest yet – following a £500 reduction across every range.

At the same time, Renault has rolled out some comprehensive kit upgrades. It’s now introduced a heat pump as standard across all model grades – including the new Evolution entry grade – to boost efficiency.

The energy-saving system recovers heat generated by the battery and the electric motor twice as efficiently to ensure optimal temperature for the cabin, whilst simultaneously minimising the impact on range. It’s able to boost the range of the Megane E-Tech by up to 9% when the outside temperature drops below 10°C, while maintaining a comfortable temperature inside.

As well as the heat pump, standard features across the range include automatic wipers and headlamps, automatic climate control, LED daytime running lights, heated front seats, heated steering wheel and Arkamys audio system.

Other equipment upgrades include a 12-inch screen for the OpenR Link multimedia system, which now comes as standard on mid-range Techno and top-spec Iconic trims. These also now get contextual adaptive cruise control as standard, joining the existing advanced driver assistance systems.

The Megane E-Tech electric is available with a single powertrain, which uses a 220hp electric motor, powered by a 60kWh battery. Official range stands at 280 miles (WLTP) and the Megane E-Tech can recharge at up to 130kW DC, giving an extra 186 miles in 30 minutes.
