Renault Trucks has launched a free e-learning platform that demystifies the transition to battery electric technology.

The Renault Trucks ‘Decarbonisation Academy’ free e-learning platform is open to everyone

Designed as an educational tool, the ‘Decarbonisation Academy’ free e-learning platform is open to everyone and provides access to materials featuring educational videos, expert opinions from inside and outside the company and the experiences of logistics firms that have already switched to EVs.

Each course consists of several modules and is designed to be completed in under 30 minutes. Four courses are already online and include an introduction to decarbonisation, a dedicated session on electric trucks and including a look at the introduction of Low Emission Zones, a look at lithium-ion batteries and real-life examples of companies that have embarked on the path to decarbonising transport.

The Academy is designed for all transport and logistics professionals; some areas are specific to HGV operators, but there is also information and answers to questions for LCV operators too.

The resources are intended to help fleet professionals think strategically and plan the transformation of their business with confidence.

The platform draws on Renault Trucks’ near 15 years of experience in electric mobility and the knowledge it gathers daily from its customers. The business began experimenting with electric technology with partner customers back in 2009 and has been mass-producing electric trucks in its Blainville-sur-Orne factory for over three years now.

Optimised for use on tablets or smartphones, the platform is designed for users to learn anywhere and at their own pace, with the added benefit of being able to pause the course and return to it later on. On completing the course, participants can test their knowledge by taking a quiz and read additional articles on the subject. A certificate is issued at the end of the course.

The ‘Decarbonisation Academy’ is available in French and English and will be regularly updated with new content.
