TPS, the parts business of Volkswagen Group UK, is boosting work to electrify its parts delivery service with the arrival of 25 Cupra Born and Volkswagen ID. Buzz models to its fleet.

The new arrivals support the TPS strategy to electrify its 710-strong fleet

The EVs will be rolled out across its network of centres, including three Cupra Born models into the Northern Ireland delivery fleets of TPS Ballymena – the latest TPS Centre to open its doors – TPS Cookstown and TPS Mallusk.

Its TPS Coventry, TPS Gatwick, TPS Portsmouth and TPS Southampton sites will also gain the new electric vehicles on their delivery fleets.

The EVs will be used by the TPS centres to carry out multiple daily delivery runs and support the existing fleet with additional day-to-day operations.

Catherine Baker, head of group parts operations, Volkswagen Group UK, said: “The addition of the 25 all-electric Cupra Born and Volkswagen ID. Buzz models is a major boost to our strategy to electrify the 710-strong TPS fleet.

“As part of our plans to accelerate our EV journey, these vehicles will help to pave the way for our business to cut its UK carbon footprint significantly, driving the transformation of our delivery service that will benefit both the planet and our customers.”

The new arrivals follow recent pilot projects of electric vehicles in selected TPS centres. These included trials with the Volkswagen ID.3 and the ABT eTransporter van in specially commissioned wraps.
