Vauxhall’s newly unveiled concept might be a Corsa but not as you know it.
Uncovered ahead of its world premiere at the upcoming Munich motor show (aka IAA Mobility), the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo is a fully electric 800hp concept that showcases the brand’s future model plans and styling.
Following its physical debut, it’ll arrive digitally as a playable model in Gran Turismo 7 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 this autumn.
But it also gives an insight into the upcoming new-generation Corsa, due to arrive around 2027, and shows Vauxhall’s future plans for its GSE performance sub-brand.
The concept is based on Stellantis’ forthcoming STLA Small platform and has a similar footprint to the standard Corsa but with a lower and much wider stance.
The powertrain features an 82kWh battery and dual 476hp electric motors for a combined 800hp and 800Nm of torque, with 0-62mph acceleration of 2.0 seconds and a top speed of 199mph. There’s permanent all-wheel drive and a boost function that delivers an additional 80hp for up to four seconds. Once fully depleted, the boost function can be fully recharged in four 20 second segments – and displayed on the steering wheel.
Its blistering performance is aided by an overall weight of just 1,170kg and optimised aero solutions such as its aero bonnet, aero blade skirts, active aero diffuser and active aero spoiler.
Styling delivers a new, “more technical execution” of the brand’s bold and pure design philosophy, with sharp, contoured body lines and plenty of contrasting yellow finishes. The front-end displays the latest evolution of the Vauxhall Vizor grille, while there’s an illuminated Griffin emblem at the centre of the signature Vauxhall Compass.
The concept also pays tribute to Vauxhall’s historic and iconic motorsport vehicles with triangular styling elements used in places such as the wheel structure, the roof spoiler and the roll cage.
The “innovative and detoxed” interior comes with a sleek steering wheel, suspended lightweight driver’s seat with six-point seatbelts and roll cage, plus illuminated ‘painting with light’ fabrics. Already seen on the 2023 Experimental Concept, these are used on the dashboard and door inserts and alert the driver to the presence of other vehicles, such as in blind spots.

It not only shows what is possible on a small car platform, it also displays a clear view to the future. Taking the iconic Corsa nameplate and combining it with GSE high-performance engineering results in a breathtaking concept that will deliver OMG! GSE moments.”
The Corsa GSE VGT will debut at IAA Mobility 2025 on 8 September and then be displayed at the Gran Turismo World Series event in Berlin on 20 September.
