Fleet charging provider Rightcharge has joined the Visa Ready for Fleet programme as Visa’s only recommended home charging reimbursement partner in Europe.

The partnership bridges a critical gap in corporate fleet electrification. While traditional fuel cards cater exclusively to public stations, recent data from Rightcharge reveals that 73% of electric vehicle fleet charging sessions now occur at drivers’ homes.

The collaboration brings together two complementary platforms to create an end-to-end payment infrastructure for fleet suppliers. Visa covers the public side through Visa Fleet 2.0, its open-loop payment infrastructure for fleet and mobility. Rightcharge covers the home side with its platform, which calculates the exact cost of every home session and pays drivers back automatically to their energy bill. The two platforms complement one another and allow fleet suppliers to deliver a future-proof, EV fleet payments service. With this solution, fleet suppliers can deliver a modern, end-to-end EV payment service built on two highly specialised platforms.

Ready for Fleet certification gives Rightcharge access to Visa’s global partner network of issuers and fleet mobility providers, accelerating the rollout of accurate home charging reimbursement across UK fleets.

By earning the Visa Ready for Fleet certification, Rightcharge’s technology has been validated against Visa’s strict standards for security, integration, and functionality. The status grants Rightcharge direct access to Visa’s global partner network of issuers and mobility providers, accelerating its rollout across the UK and continental Europe.

The collaboration will help close the payments gap for charging. Data from Rightcharge’s fleet platform shows that 27% of EV fleet charging sessions happen on the public network; 73% happen at home. In terms of total charging spend, 43% of total cost was at home while 57% was on the public network. Any fleet supplier that only solves one side is leaving a significant portion of their customers’ charging unmanaged.

Fleet suppliers looking to build a complete EV fleet payments offering can now combine Visa Fleet 2.0 with Rightcharge’s home reimbursement platform. The result is a solution that covers both public and home charging payments.

For fleet managers, that means accurate reimbursement for every home session and real-time visibility across the fleet. For drivers, it means no out-of-pocket costs and no expense claims, wherever they charge. Rightcharge’s position in Visa’s partner directory makes it straightforward for fleet issuers and mobility providers to add home reimbursement to their existing fleet services.
