VWFS | Fleet and Pod Point tie up for charging solutions

By / 5 years ago / UK News / No Comments

Volkswagen Financial Services | Fleet is providing charging solutions at home for customers under a new tie-up with Pod Point.

The Pod Point partnership will enable VWFS | Fleet customers to benefit from a home charge point and installation service included within the cost of their lease

Around 60% of the charging for an electric vehicle is done at home, and the Pod Point partnership will enable all VWFS | Fleet customers to consider an electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid by providing a home charge point and installation service included within the cost of their lease.

The new partnership builds on the recent launch of a new tool – developed to help companies, including non-VWFS customers, determine if individual vehicles can be shifted to ultra-low emission choices – and enables VWFS | Fleet to offer a full, end-to-end EV service.

Tom Brewer, head of sales and marketing at VWFS | Fleet, said: “With the increasing development of electric vehicles, charging was always going to be the next big challenge. We’re keen to support the industry and education around EV is the key. Not everyone will be a good fit for EV, but for those who are, it’s crucial to have a home charging solution. We can offer these charge points and installation as part of the cost of the lease, making the shift to EV as smooth as possible.”

Erik Fairbairn, Pod Point CEO and founder, added: “This is a landmark partnership that will deliver home charging to VWFS’s customers in the most straightforward, efficient way. Drivers will benefit from Pod Point’s easy-to-use smart chargepoints along with our app, which allows drivers to track their charging activity at home and en route.”
