BMW is boosting range on its iX1 and iX2 electric SUVs under latest model updates.

From March 2026 onwards, the small family SUV and its SUV-coupé sibling will benefit from increased all-electric range thanks to the implementation of silicon-carbide semiconductor components in the power electronics (SiC inverter).

This technology delivers greater efficiency and cuts energy consumption, resulting in a WLTP range of up to 318 miles for the iX1 eDrive20, up from 293 miles currently.

Meanwhile, iX1 xDrive30 models will be able to cover a maximum of 288 miles between charge stops, compared to 270 miles currently.

WLTP range also rises for iX2 models, with up to 318 miles for the eDrive20, compared to 283 at present, and up to 294 miles for the xDrive30 variant from the current 267 miles.

Prices for the iX1 start from £43,555 for the Sport, rising to £51,205 for the M Sport Pro. The iX2 starts from £43,990 for the M Sport and tops out at £47,270 for the M Sport Pro.

The uplifted electric range is part of a raft of BMW model revisions for the spring. Other changes include uplifted M Sport Pro models for the 2, 3 and 4 Series derivatives. Previously packaged as a standalone option in conjunction with the M Sport trim level, the new standalone M Sport Pro models ups the level of standard equipment, including 19-inch M Sport alloy wheels, red-painted brake callipers, adaptive LED headlights and darkened exterior design features. The new M Sport Pro models are available to order now and start first deliveries in April 2026.

Lastly, from February 2026 production, all BMW models will get the Bavarian brand’s revised roundel with a new logo, already showcased on the new iX3.
