Mazda has teamed up with Pod to offer Mazda6e customers a half-price home charger for a limited period.

The all-electric saloon arrives this summer with class-leading residual values and hatchback practicality – and customers purchasing through retail or Mazda Contract Hire will qualify for a tethered or untethered Pod home charger for £499 when placing an order by 30 June.

Sales director Laura Brailey said: “We recognise that many prospective Mazda6e customers may be new to electric vehicles and the simplicity, convenience and the well-established end-to-end installation process associated with this offer is designed to deliver a seamless and stress-free move to electric car ownership.”

On top of this, all retail and fleet customers will also be eligible for a £500 public charging credit when opening an account via the Mazda Public Charging App. The credit is redeemable via the app across participating public charging networks.

On sale since last autumn, the Mazda6e reinvents the Mazda6 for the electric age.

Available with a single 78kWh battery specification, the 6e delivers a modern flowing exterior, sleek cabin design and Mazda’s famed focus on the experience from behind the wheel, ensuring it will be a popular choice for company car drivers.

Featuring stylish premium saloon proportions combined with hatchback functionality, it’s priced at £38,995 for the Takumi and £39,995 for Takumi Plus.

The 78kWh battery delivers a combined WLTP range of 348 miles, while 10-80% charging on a 195kW DC charger takes 24 minutes. With 258hp and 290Nm of torque on tap from its rear-wheel-drive setup, the Mazda6e will reach 62mph in 7.9 seconds.
