Raw Charging is marking World EV Day on Wednesday 9 September 2026 by offering free charging across over 400 destinations.

The promotion includes the firm’s national AC network and a selection of DC rapid and ultra-rapid hubs, with no app or accounts required.
It’s available at sites operated in partnership with the National Trust, Merlin Entertainments, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), Greene King and McArthurGlen, as well as AC chargers across Landsec destinations.
Crucially, there is nothing to download and no account to set up. Every AC Raw charger is fully accessible by contactless payment, so on World EV Day drivers can simply drive up, tap and charge for free.
The offer marks World EV Day 2026, which arrives as the UK’s electric transition gathers pace. According to the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) and Zapmap, there are now more than 2.15 million fully electric cars on UK roads. Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) made up over a quarter of all new car registrations across the first seven months of 2026, reaching a record 30% market share in August, as expanding model choice, competitive pricing and the Government’s Electric Car Grant continue to accelerate uptake.
Jason Simpson, CEO of Raw Charging, said: “World EV Day is a chance to celebrate how far the UK has come and to make the switch to electric feel that little bit easier. That is exactly what we are doing by opening up free charging right across our network: at the shopping parks, gardens, pubs, attractions and days out where people already spend their time.
“What matters just as much as the free charging is how simple it is. There is no app to download and no account to set up, drivers just tap a bank card and plug in. That is how public charging should work, and it is the experience we are proud to offer every day of the year, not just on World EV Day.”
