BCA has published latest data showing how its EV Battery Grading service is driving confidence among used EV buyers.

BCA vehicles listed with a Battery Health Check consistently outperform those without

Since the EV Battery Grading service launched a year ago, BCA has reported a 1.4% (£258) uplift in performance vs guide price and an improvement in time-to-sell of 2.7 days across a basket of over 22,000 battery graded vehicles. The EV sale conversion rate improved by 6.5% compared to the period immediately before the service launched. Conversion has improved for graded vehicles versus un-graded vehicles in the same time period

Improvements continue to accelerate, with the period since 1 July 2025 recording a 2.1% (£365) uplift against guide prices and a 10.2% improvement in sale conversion for electric vehicles that are battery graded.

BCA’s Battery Health Check and Grading system offers a standardised, data-driven assessment of EV battery condition. It’s seen as a key differentiator in BCA’s EV proposition, driving customer confidence in the adoption of used electric vehicles.

The Battery Health Grading system, powered by Aviloo’s Flash Test, provides buyers with a clear, independent view of an EV’s battery condition – graded from A to E, alongside a precise State of Health (SoH) percentage.

This level of transparency has had a measurable impact: vehicles listed with a Battery Health Check consistently outperform those without in terms of buyer engagement and final sale values.

BCA sold over 26,000 used EVs in the first half of 2025 – said to be more than any other remarketing provider in the UK – and is on track to exceed well over 50,000 units by the year-end.

Stuart Pearson, chief operating officer at BCA, commented: “Battery transparency is critical to building trust in the used EV market. Our grading system provides the clarity that buyers need and the confidence sellers want, helping to drive stronger residual values and faster sales.”
