The BVRLA will bring back its #UsedEVWeek campaign this September (21-27) to highlight latest developments in the used electric vehicle market.

The BVRLA’s #UsedEVWeek will work to turn short-term market momentum into sustained demand

The campaign follows the inaugural #UsedEVWeek last October, when organisations from across the automotive sector used a shared banner to publish insight, evidence and positive stories about used EVs.

This year’s activity will follow the same principle: distilling industry communications into a single week for a concentrated period of activity.

The new campaign arrives at a vital time for the used electric vehicle market and builds on the association’s summer focus on electric car benefits. Latest data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders shows the used market grew in the second quarter of 2026, driven by fast-rising sales of used electric vehicles. Autotrader also reports that used car values have stopped their long-term downward trend.

A factor behind that uplift is the volatility in global fuel prices due to conflict in the Middle East. As such, it is vital that the market can create a stable long-term base that sees demand remain once fuel prices stabilise.

The BVRLA’s #UsedEVWeek will work to turn that short-term momentum into sustained demand and greater consumer confidence.

#UsedEVWeek will give the sector an opportunity to demonstrate the benefits that can be found in the used market for electric cars. Content is expected to highlight the flexible ways by which vehicles can be sourced or funded, the quality and variety of cars reaching the market, and reliability that motorists should be able to expect.

BVRLA members and other industry stakeholders can join in by sharing their data, case studies and insights. The BVRLA will also share new activity and announcements of its own, while members and other industry stakeholders are encouraged to take part by sharing their .

By coordinating activity under #UsedEVWeek, the aim is to make the progress being achieved across the market harder to miss and help ensure recent success provides a platform for longer-term growth.

Adam Forshaw, BVRLA head of communications, said: “Without a strong used EV market, the transition cannot succeed. BVRLA members and their customers have led the shift to electric, but we now need that momentum to carry into the second-hand market. #UsedEVWeek is about showing more motorists the choice, value and quality already available. By getting the whole industry involved, we can build confidence and make that message much harder to miss.”
