The CV Show is calling on fleets to help with insights on the journey to net zero.

Aligning with this year’s CV Show theme of ‘Fuelling Change: The Route to Decarbonising Road Transport’, the short survey checks out how operators themselves are progressing on the journey to roll out zero-emissions vehicles.

The study will help highlight common themes and key differences across sectors for the 2026 CV Show – which runs from 21 to 23 April at the NEC, Birmingham – but will also support operators and the wider industry as they navigate the path towards net zero.

CV Show organisers said there’s plenty of data on technology, vehicles and policy, but far less that captures operator-level reality, such as day-to-day challenges, investment decisions and the practical barriers shaping fleet strategies.

The study aims to counter this and gives LCV, HGV and bus/coach operators a dedicated platform to share their views directly.

The research tests a series of hypotheses across each sector to quantify progress, identify obstacles, and highlight opportunities – from the role of electric vehicles, gas and HVO, to infrastructure readiness and workforce issues.

The findings will provide a clear, credible benchmark of decarbonisation progress across each sector and identify the biggest operational, financial and infrastructure barriers.

The research will also explore timelines, trials and investment intentions for low- and zero-emission technologies and uncover the social and workforce issues linked to going green, including driver and technician recruitment and training.
