Ford is boosting its Puma Gen-E with more EV range and BlueCruise hands-free driving tech for the new model year.

Arriving in 2026, the updated all-electric compact crossover will offer over 248 miles of EV range (WLTP combined) compared to 233 for the current model.

Prices will stay the same despite the uplift in range. The current Puma Gen-E, which has already sold out for 2025, is priced at £26,245 with the Government’s full £3,750 Electric Car Grant applied.

The 2026 Puma Gen-E will also introduce BlueCruise, Ford’s hands-free highway driving technology, becoming the smallest vehicle in the brand’s range available with the driver assistance system.

The technology first launched on the Mustang Mach-E in Europe back in 2023 and is now being expanded across the Puma Gen-E, along with the Puma, Kuga and Ranger PHEV from spring 2026.

The ‘hands-off, eyes-on’ technology allows drivers on approved Blue Zone sections of motorway to drive with their hands off the steering wheel if they continue to pay attention to the road ahead, and operates at up to 80mph (130km/h).

BlueCruise builds on the capabilities of Ford’s Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (IACC), and helps control the steering, acceleration, braking, lane positioning and safe distances from the vehicle ahead by monitoring the road markings, speed signs and evolving traffic conditions, from highway speeds to stop-and-go traffic.

It can be used on over 135,000km (84,000 miles) of designated Blue Zones, allowing customers to take a road trip across multiple countries.

BlueCruise 2 will be available on Puma Gen-E new model year vehicles from spring 2026 when equipped with the Driver Assistance Pack. Subscription options and pricing will be announced closer to on-sale date.
