Honda has treated its Civic e:HEV hybrid hatchback to a makeover that introduces updated styling and new driver-focused features.
On sale now in Elegance, Sport and Advance grades, the refreshed Civic gets a new exterior design with a bolder front upper and lower grille, highlighted in black gloss and finished with a new grille and headlight garnish for a sharper, sportier look.
Other additions include new 18-inch two-tone, diamond-cut alloy wheels in grey for Advance grade and black for Sport models, alongside a high black gloss finish for the door trim.
Honda has also removed the front fog lights to further streamline the design – the Japanese carmaker said its improved LED headlight technology ensures optimal visibility is maintained.
Topping it off, there’s a new exterior Seabed Blue paint option, replacing Premium Crystal Blue, plus new optional accessory accent colours in Berlina Black, Nordic Silver and Patina Bronze.
The sharper exterior is complemented by select interior changes across all grades, including a new black interior roof and pillars and matt chrome detailing around the air vents.
Equipment upgrades add in interior illumination and footwell lights for the Advance model, while the Sport grade features a new heated steering wheel and a 10.2-inch Digital Driver Display to offer clearer graphics and improved visibility.
Finally, Elegance models will now include an auto dim feature on the rear-view mirror, previously only standard in the Sport and Advance grades, and wireless charging within the centre console.
The Civic’s two-motor e:HEV hybrid powertrain is carried over. This teams up an Atkinson Cycle 143hp 2.0-litre petrol engine with a pair of electric motors for a total 184hp of power. It offers four drive modes – Normal, Eco, Sport and Individual – and variable regenerative braking, adjusted using the steering wheel paddle.
The Civic e:HEV also carries over Honda’s Sensing active safety technologies, which include Forward Collision Warning System, designed to detect the presence of vehicles in front, issuing audible, visual and tactile alerts for the driver when approaching with too much speed.
Order banks for the updated Civic e:HEV are now open. Prices starts from £33,795 for the entry-level Elegance grade, rising to £35,395 for the Sport and £38,695 for the top-rung Advance version.
