Every version of the compact electric ‘Aero Hatch’ qualifies for Band 1 of ECG, giving customers the full £3,750 discount. This means grant-inclusive pricing starts at £18,495 OTR for the Advance 42kWh and £21,995 OTR for the Advance 61kWh. The line-up extends to £28,195 OTR for the Ioniq 3 N Line Evo.

Customers who previously reserved a Hyundai Ioniq 3 can now convert their reservation into a full order and receive the £3,750 Electric Car Grant instead of the previous £1,500 Hyundai Reservation Saving.

The Ioniq 3 now joins the Hyundai Kona Electric in being eligible for the full UK Electric Car Grant.

Ashley Andrew, president of Hyundai Motor UK, said: “The response to Ioniq 3 has been extraordinary, with more customers registering their interest before launch than for any new Hyundai we’ve introduced in the UK.

“Securing the full £3,750 Electric Car Grant across every version means we can now turn that interest into orders at a price that puts a genuinely spacious, long-range electric car within reach of far more drivers. With cars arriving in our retailers this month, we’re expecting its popularity to continue as more potential buyers manage to get behind the wheel.”

The Ioniq 3 delivers a new rival to the Renault 5 and Volkswagen ID. Polo, alongside models such the Cupra Raval.

The five-seat compact electric car features an ‘Aero Hatch’ silhouette shaped by Hyundai’s ‘Art of Steel’ design philosophy. This gives it a highly efficient 0.263 drag coefficient alongside a generous 441-litre boot.

The line-up offers 42 and 61kWh battery sizes across four distinct trims – Advance, Premium, Ultimate and N Line Evo – although the smaller battery is only available on the entry grade.

The 61kWh Ioniq 3 offers a driving range of up to 308 miles – said to be class-leading and accompanied by DC rapid charging.

The Ioniq 3 is also the first Hyundai model developed for Europe to feature the new Pleos Connect infotainment system, based on Android Automotive OS. Hyundai SmartSense driver assistance technology is fitted as standard.

The line-up starts with the Advance and Premium models. Upgrading to Ultimate grade adds matrix LED headlights, Highway Driving Assist 2, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.

The range-topping Ioniq 3 N Line Evo combines N Line exterior styling and 19-inch alloy wheels with a 14.6-inch infotainment display, Surround View Monitor, Blind View Monitor and Memory Reverse Assist.
