China’s Leapmotor has unveiled its B03X small electric SUV ahead of its global launch next year.

Unveiled at the Guangzhou Auto Show, the B03X – which is named the A10 in the brand’s domestic market – brings a new rival to the Ford Puma and forthcoming Renault 4.

Arriving in the UK from the second half of 2026, the B03X will sit below the recently launched B10 C-segment SUV in Leapmotor’s line-up and will offer up to 500km (310 miles) on China’s CLTC testing cycle.

The first model developed on Leapmotor’s brand-new global A platform, it’s positioned as a “smart premium long-range SUV” that will apparently break the industry’s three dilemmas: that premium must mean expensive, small cars must be low-tech and compact dimensions must sacrifice space.

Built on the brand’s latest LEAP architecture, it will deliver “flagship-level intelligence, best-in-segment EV range, flexible space and global quality redefining what a compact SUV can be”.

Despite its compact footprint, the B03X will have “exceptional interior space” and will “combine a true SUV stance with city-friendly agility”. Features also include “door-to-door advanced driver assistance, an AI-powered cockpit, and full OTA updates throughout the vehicle lifecycle”.

It’s aimed at customers seeking an affordable yet premium B-segment vehicle for daily commutes, as well as first-time EV buyers upgrading from ICE compacts without compromising on safety, space or smart technology.

The exterior design features six global colours, 18-inch alloys, semi-hidden door handles, a floating roof and an emotional “smile” lighting signature for instant recognition.

The Leapmotor line-up in the UK now consists of the T03 A-segment hatch, the B03X due in H2 2026, the B05 C-segment hatch, due to arrive in the UK mid-2026, the B10 C-SUV and the C10 D-SUV.  Leapmotor says more model launches will follow.
