Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator, is accelerating the expansion of its London EV charging network under its EV Power business.

It’s rolling out ultra-rapid hubs equipped with 300-400kW chargers across the capital, equating to a 30%+ increase in the charge point operator’s network within the M25.

MFG’s EV Power Hubs in London will be equipped with on average seven bays. Locations already open include St Pauls Cray, Bush Hill on the A10 and Leyton on the A112.

The new and expanded sites will enable drivers to add up to 100 miles of range in 10 minutes, depending on their vehicle.

MFG says its EV Power business is now the largest open ultra-rapid charging network in the UK while EV Power already has a significant network inside the M25, across MFG’s 150 London sites.

MFG’s recent acquisition of Morrisons’ 337 forecourts, including some 350 acres of the car parks, also delivers significant opportunity for EV charging network growth.

MFG will develop five EV Power Hubs on Morrisons car parks in London, including Borehamwood and Stratford.

EV Power Hubs are situated alongside MFG’s existing forecourts, which are equipped with convenience stores and food/drink offers, including Costa, Pret A Manger, Greggs and Subway. The Morrisons Borehamwood EV Power Hub is part of a £3m+ investment into the existing forecourt that will include a Burger King and Greggs, as well as an MFG Car Wash Centre.

The expansion supports MFG’s strategic goal to build a nationwide network of ultra-rapid EV hubs, designed to support the UK’s transition to electric vehicles and help address charging accessibility in high-demand urban areas. This is particularly relevant inside the M25 where the uptake of EV cars is strong, driven by clean air initiatives such as ULEZ and the London Congestion Charge.

This latest phase of expansion is part of MFG’s wider £400m investment commitment into EV infrastructure by 2030. The forecourt operator has already installed c.1,000 ultra-rapid chargers in over 200 locations and is investing c.£170m upgrading its network of forecourts in 2025 alone.
