Allego UK has boosted the electric vehicle infrastructure around Heathrow with a new ultra-fast charging site at the Radisson Red Hotel.

Located just over the road from one of the world’s busiest airports, the site provides crucial, high-speed charging capabilities for drivers.

The new site is one of a limited number of ultra-fast public charging locations serving the Heathrow area, which more than 80 million passengers and tens of thousands of staff travel to and from every year.

Heathrow currently has no public EV charging facilities within its airport car parks, and advises visitors to ensure their vehicles have sufficient charge for onward journeys.

The new Allego station includes two 150kW chargers with four sockets in total, which enable EV drivers to charge in as little as 20 minutes. The site is designed to support the charging needs of those travelling to and from Heathrow, including drivers dropping off passengers and moving through the surrounding road network.

The new Allego site builds on existing charging provision around the airport and forms part of the company’s focus on delivering reliable, high-power charging in convenient locations such as major transport hubs, urban centres and key travel routes.

“By expanding ultra-fast charging in the airport’s vicinity, we’re helping to support London’s wider clean transport ambitions while making high-speed charging more accessible to drivers travelling to one of the busiest travel gateways in the world and through one of the most heavily used road networks in the country.”
