Pod has introduced a new end-to-end Home Fleet solution to support businesses looking to seamlessly manage their electrified van and field-service fleets.
Home Fleet offers automated reimbursement, central oversight of costs and rewards-based charging at drivers’ homes
Aimed at companies with electric cars and/or vans that are kept at home, Home Fleet offers automated reimbursement, central oversight of costs and rewards-based charging at drivers’ homes, regardless of their energy provider.
Formerly known as Pod Point and now focused on home and business charging solutions, the company has revamped its fleet offering, drawing on years of expertise in supporting businesses with fleet management and providing simple charging solutions for employees. Home Fleet now provides easier access to both home and public charging, 24/7 driver support and the new ability to claim automated reimbursements.
The reimbursement feature is the result of a partnership with Rightcharge, combining Pod’s expertise in installation, fleet management and support with an industry-proven reimbursement process.
Home Fleet is targeted at fleet managers looking to standardise and scale EV operations without the administrative burden. It provides a centralised approach to manage charger installs at driver homes, cost allocation and ongoing driver support, all while minimising downtime and keeping vehicles ready for work.
Pod also has delivery experience at scale, having installed over 250,000 chargers in the UK and is a trusted partner to businesses nationwide.
Debbie Foley, chief revenue officer at Pod, said: “As the EV transition continues to accelerate, requirements of both the fleet manager and fleet driver have fundamentally changed. Moving away from fragmented, manual systems, Home Fleet supports businesses of all sizes on the path to electrification and future-proofs fleet management in a way that’s easy, affordable, and rewarding.”
Charlie Cook, CEO at Rightcharge, commented: “By combining Rightcharge’s reimbursement technology with Pod’s installation expertise and ecosystem, we’re giving fleet managers a genuinely seamless path to electrification.”
The Home Fleet solution includes installations of the Pod Point Solo 3S charger, as well as access to a nationwide network of public chargers, when home charging isn’t an option. All charging costs are then tracked in one integrated, managed service to allow for automatic reimbursements. For fleets and drivers, it’s a big step forward from manual mileage claims and expenses processes, automating the experience to ensure drivers are never out-of-pocket.
An added incentive for fleet drivers is that they can sign up to the new Pod Rewards scheme right away. Any customer with a Pod Point home EV charger and on a single-rate or two-rate domestic electricity tariff (with any energy provider), is eligible. Drivers just plug in, set a target charge and let Pod do the rest, enabling them to earn up to £100 a year in cash rewards for smart charging.
