Renewable heating and cooling specialist Zeuner has adopted two new Ford Transit Custom Plug-in Hybrid vans to cut urban emissions and support its nationwide business growth.

The new Ford Transit Custom Plug-in Hybrid vans will cut urban emissions and support the company’s nationwide business growth

Purchased outright by the Coventry-based specialist, the new fleet additions allow engineers to eliminate emissions in towns and cities without compromising their nationwide project delivery.

The new plug-in hybrid vans will allow Zeuner’s engineers to drive in electric mode during many urban journeys, helping to improve local air quality and reduce emissions in urban locations, while retaining the flexibility to travel longer distances to customer sites nationwide.

To ensure safety, the vehicles have been specified with features that include rear-view mirror and reversing cameras to improve visibility when working in built-up areas, alongside additional security measures such as upgraded deadlocks to help protect specialist equipment carried by engineers.

Zeuner’s founder, Chris Reilly, emphasised that adopting cleaner vehicles was a natural extension of the company’s core mission to drive decarbonisation.

“We spend every day helping organisations reduce their carbon footprint through innovative renewable heating and cooling solutions, so it’s important that we continually look at how we can reduce the environmental impact of our own operations too.

“These new hybrid vehicles are another step on that journey. They allow us to minimise emissions when working in towns and cities while maintaining the flexibility our engineers need to support customers across the country.”

Reilly emphasised that companies should lead by example wherever they can: “Sustainability isn’t just about the systems we install – it’s about the decisions we make as a business. We believe companies should lead by example wherever they can.”

He added: “If we’re encouraging clients to invest in a greener future, it’s only right that we do the same.”
