Shoreham Vehicle Auctions (SVA) has partnered with Generational for EV battery health checks, spearheading a campaign for new remarketing industry standards.

SVA appointed Generational following a formal tender and then a consultation with its buyer and vendor partners.

Buyer feedback highlighted that the reports provide clear, independent verification of a vehicle’s OEM state of health, cell-level voltage balance and real-world range.

Oliver Phillpott, Generational’s CEO and co-founder, said its battery health checks help eliminate uncertainty and enable people to buy and sell used EVs with transparency.

“That protects residual values for vendors and helps buyers educate consumers. The checks build trust with wholesale and consumer buyers, which is only going to support EVs as they become an integral part of the used vehicle ecosystem.”

Alex Wright, SVA’s MD, is keen to share the concept with dealer groups and fellow auction firms as part of his quest to support the industry in adopting a new industry standard for battery health checks.

“I want to open up our battery health check methodology to the industry. Our aim is to support anyone who wants to know more about how these checks work and their benefit to vendors and buyers. We want to help support the remarketing industry in creating a new standard in this area,” he said.
