Tesla has today announced the addition of the Model Y Standard to its UK product line up, replacing the Model Y Rear Wheel Drive. With a range of 314 miles WLTP Certified, Model Y Standard will be priced at £41,990 and £299 a month.

Tesla UK has specifically considered a lower total cost of ownership for Model Y Standard than other previous variants beyond the list price. Specifically, a more affordable monthly lease offering of £299, the lowest insurance group rating ever for a Tesla, and stronger residual values than other Model Y variants are all confirmed for Model Y Standard, furthering our affordability measures in the UK.

With this addition comes an adjustment to the UK line up as a whole, which will now be the following:

Model Y Standard – £41,990

Model Y Premium 
• Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive – £48,990 
• Long Range All-Wheel Drive – £51,990

Model Y Performance – £61,990

The new Model Y Standard is the most efficient Model Y ever. With a consumption of 22.2 kWh/100 miles or 4.5 miles per kWh and a range of 314 miles WLTP, owners can drive more miles per pound spent on charging.

Tesla has specifically tailored Model Y Standard in the UK to achieve a lower insurance group rating of 34, the lowest of any Tesla vehicle. UK specific adaptations include a reduced top speed and acceleration which benefit this lower insurance group rating. Model Y Standard also includes 19” Crossflow Wheels in the UK, differing from the 18” wheels offered in other markets.

The latest addition to the Model Y lineup comes standard with a suite of features, including remote mobile app access, Trip Planner with real-time Supercharger availability, and a variety of gaming and entertainment options. Phone Key, Remote Climate Control, Sentry Mode and Dog Mode.

Model Y Standard also offers over-the-air updates continually enhance the vehicle, introducing new features and improving existing ones at no extra cost.

New front and rear facias give Model Y Standard a unique identity within the lineup, while the interior features new soft-touch, durable textile seats designed to perform in all scenarios and there is a large storage space between the front seats provides room for everyday belongings.

Model Y Standard is built at the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg for Europe and test drives will begin in January 2026 with customer deliveries expected in February 2026.
