The brand’s fastest electric vehicle to date – and the first in its new pure electric-only GSE line-up – the Mokka GSE will be priced from £36,995, dropping to £35,495 with the £1,500 saving under the ECG.
For that money, drivers will get rally-inspired design and engineering with motorsport levels of performance.
The fully electric powertrain delivers peak output of 280hp, immediate torque of 345Nm, plus acceleration of 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 124mph.
The 54kWh lithium-ion battery is rated for up to 209 miles of range (WLTP). An 11kW onboard charger with vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability is fitted as standard. Battery recharging from 0-80% takes 27 minutes using a 100kW DC rapid charger, while a 0-100% charge from an 11kW AC charger will take five hours 45 minutes.
Driving dynamics are inspired by the Mokka GSE Rally. Along with a kerb weight of less than 1.6 tonnes, the new high-performance Vauxhall EV also has a specially developed steering system, as well as a tuned chassis, suspension and brakes optimised for engaging performance.
Mokka GSE drivers can choose from three drive modes. In ‘Sport’ mode, the electric car is set up for performance and delivers its full power; in ‘Normal’ mode it reaches up to 112mph and in ‘Eco’ all settings are pared back for efficiency.
The exterior features sports bumpers in high-gloss black, complete with performance inlets and GSE badging and a black roof; a body-colour roof is available as a zero-cost option. The list also includes Intelli-Lux Matrix LED headlights, LED taillights and 20-inch GSE performance diamond-cut bi-colour alloy wheels, wrapped in high-grip Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres. Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3, which enhance efficiency and can provide a further eight miles of range, are a £100 option.
The cabin features Alcantara GSE bucket seats, heated vegan leather steering wheel and aluminium sport pedals, along with the latest driving assistance and infotainment technologies as standard.
First deliveries of the Mokka GSE are expected by the end of the year.
