Citroën has unveiled the 2 CV Fourgonnette Concept at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, delivering a free-spirited, contemporary take on the iconic compact commercial vehicle.

Showcased alongside the standard 2 CV Concept, the all-electric design study reimagines the classic post-war workhorse as a simple, accessible and characterful zero-emission delivery van for the modern era.

The design study – or, more precisely, passion project, according to the brand – was undertaken to create a practical and ingenious electric vehicle with an instantly recognisable and endearing design.

Xavier Chardon, CEO of Citroën and DS Automobiles, said: “The 2 CV Fourgonnette was more than just a workhorse. It was part of everyday life. Simple, ingenious and accessible, it above all possessed something few commercial vehicles have: a soul. That is the spirit we are bringing back to life today. Because being useful should never mean being ordinary.”

Conceived as the light commercial vehicle version of the 2 CV Concept, the 2 CV Fourgonnette retains its guiding principles: a focus on the essentials, ingenious design and particular attention to ease of use.

While official technical specifications for the EV concept remain under wraps, the vehicle features traditional rear barn doors designed to maximise loading practicality for urban delivery drivers.

However, although the passenger 2CV is already confirmed for production, Citroën has cooled expectations for the van version, stating: “While this concept does not preview a future production model in the short term, it opens up new avenues for consideration.”
