Lexus has discontinued sales of the UX 300e five years after the compact electric SUV debuted as the brand’s first EV.

Its exit from the brand’s website was spotted by Auto Express, and Lexus has since confirmed that the electric UX was “removed from sale in late 2025”.

Pitched as an urban crossover designed with city-use in mind, the UX 300e started first deliveries in early 2021 as Lexus’s inaugural battery-electric vehicle (BEV).

A refreshed version featuring a 40%+ battery capacity increase to 72.8kWh for significantly improved range over the original pack was introduced to the UK market in spring 2023, followed by a hefty price reduction and new trims in 2024.

The departure of the UX 300e means the larger RZ is now the only fully electric car offered by Lexus. It’s priced from £48,365 and available with three different powertrain and five different grades, offering an electric range of up to 346 miles.

The UX 300h compact hybrid SUV, which shares a platform with the UX 300e, remains on sale. Priced from £38,095, the BMW X1 and Audi Q3 rival has been updated for 2026, adding in new equipment and safety features and now solely available with front-wheel drive.
