MG has hit a new landmark in its UK home market with the sale of its 100,000th electric vehicle.

The milestone was reached on Friday 31 October and just a year after MG celebrated its 100th anniversary at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
“We’re proud that MG has played a meaningful role in driving the growth of electric mobility in the UK and supporting the nation’s net zero ambitions,” said Guy Pigounakis, commercial director of MG Motor UK.
“Reaching 100,000 EV sales is a major achievement for our brand and a reflection of the trust our customers place in us. We will continue to expand our line-up with even more choice, even more value and advanced technology that makes electric driving accessible to all.”
Pigounakis went on: “Whilst we have successfully embraced new mobility technology – especially hybrid and battery electric vehicles – as a brand, we retain MG’s essential spirit and a sense of adventure. That means offering our MG4 EV in a bold Volcano Orange, as well as an XPower model which delivers a thrilling 435hp of power output, or designing arrow-shaped rear lights for the flagship Cyberster that incorporates a subtle Union Jack pattern.”
MG launched its first electric vehicle, the ZS EV, in the UK in 2019; delivering a practical SUV with a highly competitive on-the-road price of £24,995. Further MG EV models have followed, including the MG4 EV hatchback as well as the MG5 estate.
In the summer of 2023, MG unveiled the Cyberster as the UK’s first two-seat EV production convertible; it’s now the apex of the brand’s line-up.
Latest additions include the IM5 and IM6 launched under the new IMI (Intelligence in Motion) sub-brand.
The carmaker’s current EV range includes the MG4 EV, MGS5 EV, IM5, IM6 and the Cyberster. MG also offers a wide range of hybrid and petrol models, including the ZS Hybrid+ SUV that’s proved notably popular with both business and private buyers and was the UK’s best-selling hybrid during the first six months of 2025.
